LinkedIn is the bread and butter for recruiters. We connect with so many people every day, see hundreds of thousands of profiles per year, talk with hiring managers, post thousands of open positions, and see millions of open opportunities worldwide. It’s up to you to make yourself noticeable.
LinkedIn is such a powerful tool—it’s the world's largest professional network on the internet, so use it to your advantage!
Here are some tips to help you get the most out of it:
Make sure to connect with us recruiters, either by accepting our connection requests or requesting one first.
If we send you a connection request, please accept. You’ll gain access to information about open positions and opportunities for very unique and specific roles.
Read our messages even if you are not interested in a new role. This will keep you informed about the job market.
If you are looking for a new job, make sure to keep your profile up to date. Recruiters need to see what you’re currently doing and what you have done in the past.
Make sure to add any new skills, certifications, and/or licenses that you have obtained recently.
Reach out to us if you’re looking for a new position within the industry. Send us your resume, provide your compensation expectations, whether you’re willing to relocate, and whether you’re able to travel. Providing specifics saves time and helps us determine if we have something available. This information is also good for any future opportunities.
Please respond when we send you a message. It does not matter if you say no, but do let us know why. This way we will know if you are interested in seeing opportunities or if you are not interested at this time/in this type of role.
Check your LinkedIn account at least once a week. If you respond to a message 5-6 months later, most likely that position has been filled, and your chance of landing your next awesome job is gone.
Let’s connect!
