Holiday Prep: Business Edition

The Holiday season is an exciting and busy time that is felt in and out of the office. To ensure a stress-free holiday it's all about the preparation. Consider what will set you up for an enjoyable time off AND ensure your success once you return to the office.

Here are a few tips:

Organize

Organize yourself and your schedule to what suits you. It may help to add a bit more structure to your calendar to keep you on task (e.g. “10 AM-12 PM: Reply to emails”). Or pushing to schedule meetings before the holidays to ensure there are no delays. Or maybe it's physically organizing your office so it is a constructive space.

Prioritize

Towards the end of the year, there are various tasks that need to be completed. Take the time to analyze what matters most. Whether it's those little tasks that you may usually push off or the more daunting tasks. Whatever it is, get it out of the way BEFORE the holiday so it’s not sitting in the back of your mind.

Communicate

Communicate your time off externally with clients, business partners, etc., so they have clear expectations. Also communicate internally so your team can do their best to not interrupt your vacation, and help with the workload as needed. P.S. Remember to set that “out of office” email!

With the holidays approaching, and the end of the year coming fast, many of us have a heavier workload than usual. Make sure to really enjoy your time off for holidays, vacations, or just downtime. Prepare your workplace as best as you can so that you can fully decompress and return energized to crush your goals.
