Stop doing what you are doing right now! Ask yourself one question...
Do you believe in the mission of the work you do?
Are you a supporter of the ultimate goal of your company or place of work on a day-to-day basis? What is it that you and everyone else around you are trying to accomplish? Is it meaningful, is it useful, are you useful?
These questions are essential. Forget the money, forget the status quo, forget the comfortable and predictable nature of what you do.
Too often we are head-down and don’t come up for air. By air, I mean reflection. In our office, we talk a lot about the “why” behind what we do. We want to make sure we are on the same page and that the goals we have as a company are the ones that actually mean something to us. It makes it a lot easier to come to work each day when there is alignment.
Reflect on the mission and either be whole with that mission or find a mission that speaks to you. Your path must be one you believe in. Otherwise, you might be just wasting your time.
Trust us, you can have both... a great job and a mission that you believe in.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is the one to be on.
