Congratulations to Sara!
Sara Martin, PE, is the Principal of Critical Path Engineering Solutions, a local, woman-owned, engineering firm. She is a licensed professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in project development, management and design of projects, including design-build implementation, start-up, operation, and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment systems for food and beverage companies. Recent work has included many local breweries and wineries planning to expand or grow production.
Sara graduated from Clarkson University with a BA in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is a member of NYWEA, ABC, and the Master Brewer's Association of the America, and she regularly presents on various topics as needed for each organization. Sara previously worked for OBG for 17 years before starting her own business in 2016.
Sara's nominator shared how pleased he was to nominate Sara for this exciting award. Sara rose through the ranks of a top 100 AE firm, O'Brien & Gere in Syracuse, to a prominent role as a Senior Project Manager. In 2015, she took the big leap of starting her own AE firm. Since then, she has been certified by the State of NY as a WBE. Her business has been growing steadily and she has never looked back since taking the entrepreneurial plunge.
Futher, her nominator shared with us that everyone gets along with Sara. She has a very kind demeanor that builds trust and camaraderie. She has a very dedicated client following that continue to seek her out, month after month, for design and project management support. She is very strong technically and is able to engineer from the simplest pump to most complicated wastewater treatment system.
Sara has almost unlimited ability to take on big complex projects in a very calm, capable way. Her projects get delivered well and on time even though they always require complex logistics and thought.
Sara is a great role model for other women. For someone to have risen through the ranks of a big AE firm, choose to successfully go out on her own and wildly succeed, is inspirational for all but especially for other female peers.
