What I Learned From Attending WEFTEC

Last week, our team was in New Orleans, attending WEFTEC, the largest annual water quality exhibition in North America. The event was packed with insightful presentations, water and wastewater products, networking opportunities, and industry trends.

Here are a few key takeaways that stood out to me:

1. Innovation is Constant and Rapid

The convention highlighted how quickly innovation is driving change in our industry. From new technologies to improved processes, it's clear that staying informed and adaptable is essential for future success. Several exhibitors showcased groundbreaking solutions and equipment that will shape the next generation of water and wastewater advancements.

2. Networking is Still King

One of the most valuable aspects of attending in-person was connecting with professionals across the industry. In our case, this means connecting with hiring managers, candidates that have taken new opportunities, future candidates, and current and past clients. Whether it was coffee breaks, lunch, or walking the exhibition floor, I met people who shared ideas, experiences, and potential future collaborations. Also, I was able to meet people I collaborate with remotely in person.

3. The Importance of Staying Ahead of Trends

The convention reinforced how critical it is to stay ahead of emerging trends, and hearing directly from leaders and experts about water quality and environmental sustainability. It is essential to keep learning and growing in this ever-evolving landscape.

These few days at WEFTEC were not only a learning experience but also a chance to connect more deeply with the water and wastewater industry behind the scenes.

If you did not have a chance to attend this time, I highly recommend making it to the next one!
