As summer fades to fall, and Mother Nature does a reset, we may notice changes in our day-to-day lives. For everyone, the fall season may mean something different, some years may be more significant than others, you may use this as a time to reset, or maybe this is simply another season for you. Whatever the case may be, we live through this each year whether we acknowledge the changes around us or not.
Of course, we notice the leaves changing colors and the air becoming crisper. As the season continues, we “fall back” and our days seem to become shorter, which can easily affect our daily routines. With the change in weather, we typically spend more time inside, with loved ones, and preparing for the holidays. This is a great time to reflect, appreciate, and assess your current situation–whatever that may be.
You may evaluate inside your workplace as well. Workplace productivity historically peaks as the companies approach year-end. With kids back in school, everyone seems to have the opportunity to make a more productive shift. While you may be more focused on your work at this time, you may be interrupted by sick days as illnesses rise during the colder months. With a focus on your productivity, you may be thinking ahead, considering how you want to kick off the new year and what professional shifts or resets you would like to take.
Whatever the fall season may mean to you–I hope you are able to take a moment to reflect on the changes around you.
“There is something so special in the early leaves drifting from the trees–as if we are all to be allowed a chance to peel, to refresh, to start again."
