WEFTEC has come and gone. Another year under the bright lights. Bustling as always and man did the Morial Convention Center provide a great stage! The Hunter Crown team always enjoys interacting with the experts in the industry.

Austin Meyermann, President of Hunter Crown, having attended 15 WEFTECs, thought Monday was one of the best days he can remember. Energy was high, traffic seemed very strong, and many companies were eager to share stories about new technology, big wins, and plans for growth.

The Innovation Showcase continues to grow and this year the space felt very dialed in. One improvement could be done for audio since it was difficult to hear some talks/pitches in the convention center.

We do have to mention that the infused water station was an amazing idea and may we say, extremely DELICIOUS after hours of walking from one booth to another! We also tried wine made from recycled water which we believe was a major success.

Lastly, while WEFTEC strongly marketed the environmental impacts and opportunities that exist within the fields of water and wastewater treatment, they also handed badges with sensors that contained a battery. All of the badges were thrown out which basically will result in 23,000 batteries going to the landfill. Can we do a better job of not just talking the talk but also walking the walk? Our focus is water but it’s all connected.

We hope everyone had a successful show and we look forward to expanding our budding network in the future.
