Leading with Transparency: Our Recruitment Process

While working at Hunter Crown, I’ve fully embraced the transparency we practice when searching for job candidates. With every candidate we speak to, we are quick to share all of the pertinent details upfront. We aren’t interested in “selling” you on a new role but rather providing you with the details to make an informed decision. There is no point in withholding information that may be foreseen as an obstacle down the road. Of course, every search is different and we must respect our client's wishes if there are details they want to keep confidential. But, we will always do our best to be direct, informative, and respectful of our candidates' time.

Starting with the first message to our candidates, we do our best to share these details:

  • Company Name (who we are recruiting for, unless confidential)

  • Job Title

  • Location

  • Salary Information (base salary, bonus potential, etc.)

  • Job Description (typically as an attachment)

This opens the door for honest conversations with potential candidates.

I love the feedback, comments, and questions I receive that are directly related to the information presented. Some candidates share their experience with the company I am recruiting for, others share personal salary information (e.g. “I am currently making $ and will need $ to consider a new role”. Some candidates send a resume in response to my message to let me know they are interested, or the name of a colleague they feel could be a great fit based on the information in the job description. And of course, some (probably most) replies are simply to inform me they are not interested in making a career change.

Regardless of the information shared, we appreciate the response.

We hope that with the basic yet crucial details shared, you can make an informed decision if the role is something you’d be interested in exploring. And if it is, we look forward to chatting!
