I always bring up a simple analogy when describing my boss. He is, what I like to call, a “Pea Stacker.”
I know what you might be thinking, who in the heck likes peas, right? Well, funny you should ask, because this, in fact, is a great compliment.
A Pea Stacker is someone who tries things when most folks think all other options are exhausted. A Pea Stacker is someone who finds a way when most believe there is no other way. And finally, a Pea Stacker is someone who refuses to get comfortable and, of course, continues to stack those peas.
Imagine this, you’ve perfectly stacked a pyramid of peas onto a plate. Not one more pea can stack atop of this glorious structure. However, this is where the Pea Stacker comes in. This person attempts to stack another pea on top of this pyramid. Does it fall off? Of course it does, but that's not the point.
The point is that Pea Stackers continue to try and stack. They continue to innovate, to push forward, and to move things along for the better of the group. They lead and they inspire.
I challenge you to do this, whether at work or during your personal time, be a Pea Stacker. Be the person who stacks peas beyond what you ever thought possible and beyond what might be possible. Those who continue past limits establish new limits. Without these folks we would be left without progression. We’d be bored and unmotivated. So be a Pea Stacker and inspire others to be Pea Stackers too.
